Urbani Family

A legacy of excellence. Celebrating over 170 years of truffle mastery.
With passion and dedication.

In 1852, Costantino Urbani had a visionary idea: to export fresh truffles to France. His success soon led him to expand into Germany, Switzerland, and beyond.

Following the family tradition, Carlo Urbani Senior, with the indispensable support of his wife Olga Senior, became a pioneer of truffle cultivation in Italy. Their efforts gave birth to the Urbani Tartufi company, built on the expertise of the truffle hunters.

The company's transformation into a modern industry is credited to their sons, Paolo and Bruno. Paolo was honored with the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro for creating an economic powerhouse that has become a global symbol of Italian excellence. Bruno, now leading the Group, mentors new recruits.

Today, the current Urbani generation—Olga, Carlo, and Giammarco—focuses on expanding international branches and launching initiatives such as the Truffle Museum, the Truffle Academy, and Urbani Travel & Tours.

The future of Urbani Tartufi is represented by the sixth generation, including Olga's children, Luca and Francesco, with the youngest, Ginevra, daughter of Giammarco, completing the family circle.

The Founder

In memory of Cavaliere Paolo Urbani

A man dedicated to family, work, and promoting truffles, remembered fondly by those who knew him.

His daughter Olga has created a book in his honor, and the family established the "Paolo e Bruno Urbani Foundation" to address sector issues. In collaboration with Perugia's University of Taste, a study grant program and rooms named after Cavaliere Paolo Urbani have been established, leaving a lasting impact beyond just the truffle industry.
